On October 19, Wey announced that pre-orders for the Gaoshan 8 HEV have opened, with a pre-order price starting at 275,800 yuan, and a planned launch in the fourth quarter. The new model is positioned as an intelligent luxury four-wheel-drive MPV, adopts a gasoline-electric hybrid solution that does not require external charging, carries a blue plate, and will be sold alongside the current Gaoshan PHEV.

The exterior continues the Gaoshan family's "Gaoshan Liushui" design language, with a horizontal Shanhe grille at the front, dotted Xingpu headlights on both sides, and both the front and rear light groups featuring a wraparound full-width design. The side and rear lines continue those of the current model, with body dimensions of 5280mm, 1960mm, and 1900mm in length, width, and height respectively, and a wheelbase of 3145mm, placing it in the mid-to-large MPV segment.

The Gaoshan 8 HEV cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch instrument screen, dual 15.6-inch connected screens, a 17.3-inch rear-seat entertainment screen, 23 speakers, and a 12.5-liter dual-door refrigerator with cooling and heating functions. The seats are arranged in a three-row seven-seat layout, with NAPPA leather seats in the front row featuring 10-point massage, heating, and ventilation, and the driver's seat equipped with headrest speakers; the interior continues the flat floor and shared rails for the second and third rows, the luggage compartment volume can be adjusted between 435L and 1901L, and it supports an in-car large bed mode.

The Gaoshan 8 HEV is equipped with the Coffee Pilot 3 assisted driving system, featuring a 192-line lidar and a total of 27 sensors, supporting urban NOA, highway NOA, and 200+ parking assistance functions.

The Gaoshan 8 HEV is equipped with a Hi4 performance version intelligent four-wheel-drive system composed of a 2.0T hybrid-specific engine and front and rear dual motors, with a maximum system power of 322kW, maximum torque of 782N·m, zero-to-100 acceleration in 5.9 seconds, and WLTC combined fuel consumption of 6.92L/100km. The battery capacity is 3.64kWh, external charging is not supported, and it is ready to drive after refueling, with a standard 220V external discharge of up to 2.2kW in the luggage compartment.

Xiao Tang's view: The Gaoshan 8 HEV fills a very specific gap: people who want to buy this MPV but do not have a fixed parking space and cannot install a charger. The blue plate and refuel-and-go capability solve the energy replenishment issue; the 6.92L WLTC fuel consumption makes the fuel cost of long-distance travel predictable. It is not a de-contented PHEV: the battery shrinks from 44.28kWh to 3.64kWh, the engine changes from 1.5T to 2.0T, the front and rear dual-motor and four-wheel-drive structure are retained, system power drops slightly, while torque instead rises from 644N·m to 782N·m. With the PHEV and HEV sold in parallel, the covered user base is broader.
