Recently, the official images of the new Kia Niro were officially released. As a mid-cycle facelift model, the new car has upgrades in both exterior and interior, with an overall style closer to the family's pure electric products. The new car is expected to be released in March this year and will officially go on sale in the second quarter.

In terms of exterior, the new car adopts a completely new front-face design. The T-shaped daytime running lights are the family's latest style, the closed grille is the same color as the body, the black trim on the front bumper and the black trim on the side skirts form a continuous direction, and it is equipped with new low-drag 18-inch wheels. The new car's "boomerang" taillights are slimmer, the reversing lights and fog lights adopt a vertical layout, and the license plate area has been moved to the rear bumper, making the overall style more concise.

In terms of interior, the new car's cabin adopts the family's latest design language, paired with dual 12.3-inch connected screens and a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, retaining some physical buttons, and the gear shifter is a rotary knob.

In terms of power, it is expected that the new Niro will retain the current Niro's powertrain configuration, continuing to offer three powertrain versions: 1.6L hybrid, 1.6L plug-in hybrid, and pure electric, with improvements in performance and range.
Dada commentary: The Kia Niro is a compact SUV under Kia. It entered the Chinese market as an import in 2017 and was later discontinued due to low sales. Currently, there are no models on sale in China. The Kia Niro is positioned between the KX3 and KX5. Its 1.6L engine uses the Atkinson cycle, and combined fuel consumption can be as low as 4.2L/100km, with excellent energy consumption performance. The Kia Niro's powertrain forms meet the needs of the Chinese market and may be introduced in the future to enrich Kia's product lineup in China. Compact hybrid SUVs include strong models such as the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Honda CR-V Hybrid, and BYD's hybrid and plug-in hybrid models are also abundant, leaving very limited market space for the Kia Niro.
