As the newest work of BYD's high-end brand, the Yangwang U7 has attracted much attention since its debut. This test drive of the EV four-seat version gave me a more intuitive understanding of the technical strength of a "million-yuan luxury car."

Exterior: A unique design language, with details that stand up to scrutiny

The Lunar Silver body presents a delicate metallic texture in the sunlight, paired with the "C"-shaped front headlight cluster and the raised lines on the hood, giving the overall styling a look that is both avant-garde and composed. The fastback body and hidden door handles make the side profile smooth and concise, while the combination of five-spoke wheels and blacked-out side skirts cleverly balances a sporty feel with elegant temperament. The through-type taillight at the rear is the finishing touch, with the LOGO embedded in the center of the light strip, making it highly recognizable when lit at night. The U7's exterior is very easy on the eyes and belongs to the "second-glance beauty" type.

Interior: Equal emphasis on technology and practicality, with details highlighting luxury

Opening the door, the 12.8-inch OLED curved screen is the first thing that catches the eye, with smooth interface operation and clearly divided function zones. The new-generation DiLink intelligent connected system supports full-scenario voice interaction. In actual testing, commands such as navigation, music, and air conditioning control responded quickly, and the recognition accuracy was satisfying. The AR-HUD head-up display is especially practical, projecting navigation information directly in front of the driver's line of sight, reducing the frequency of looking down at the screen and improving safety to a certain extent.

The rear seats of the four-seat version can be called "executive-level treatment." The independent seats support multi-directional power adjustment, with heating, ventilation, and massage functions all available. After the leg rest is raised, leg support is sufficient, making long journeys less tiring. What is commendable is that the physical buttons in the car are appropriately retained. Commonly used functions such as air conditioning and seat adjustment do not require entering multi-level menus, balancing a sense of technology with practicality.

Dynamic test drive: Abundant power, chassis performance exceeding expectations

Powertrain: Rapid acceleration, but with greater emphasis on controllability
The e4 technology equipped in the U7 achieves precise control of wheel torque through independent drive from four motors. The officially announced 2.9-second 0-100 km/h acceleration result was verified in actual testing on a closed road. When the accelerator is pressed deeply, the strong pushback instantly awakens the desire to drive. But unlike some models that simply pursue acceleration performance, the U7's power output is tuned to be more linear. Even when the accelerator pedal is suddenly pressed deeply, the vehicle body posture remains stable, avoiding the abrupt feeling of "jerking forward."

DiSus-Z: Thorough bump filtering, excellent high-speed stability

The DiSus-Z suspension system replaces traditional hydraulic shock absorbers with 4 suspension motors, achieving a response speed in the 10-millisecond range. In actual experience, the advantages of this system are reflected in two aspects:

· Rough roads: When passing speed bumps or potholed roads, the suspension can quickly dissolve impacts, with almost no excess vibration in the body. What passengers feel is more a sense of "gliding" rather than bumping.

· High-speed cornering: In continuous curves, the suspension suppresses body roll effectively. Combined with the low-center-of-gravity battery layout, the vehicle has excellent tracking ability, giving the driver ample confidence.

Innovative feature experience: Scenario-based design that solves real pain points

All-terrain tank turn: In narrow alleys or dead-end road scenarios, this function can greatly reduce the space required for turning around. In actual testing, the vehicle achieved in-place rotation through four-motor differential control, and its ease of operation was superior to the traditional combination of reversing plus steering.

Stable driving after a high-speed tire blowout: After simulating a right-front tire blowout, the system adjusted the torque of the other wheels to keep the vehicle driving in a straight line, avoiding the risk of loss of directional control. Although such extreme situations are rarely encountered in daily driving, this function can indeed improve safety in emergency conditions.

Parallel lateral parking: When facing a side parking space with extremely limited front and rear distance, the U7 can directly park in through its lateral movement function, saving the trouble of repeated adjustments. This function is especially friendly for novice drivers or narrow parking space scenarios.

After a day of test driving, the deepest impression the Yangwang U7 left on me was its "ability to bring technology to the ground." It integrates core technologies such as e4 and DiSus-Z into actual driving scenarios, solving pain points such as power distribution, chassis comfort, and parking convenience. It is like a martial arts master who keeps a low profile: outwardly calm and reserved, but once you try it, you find surprises everywhere. It proves with actual performance that the value of a million-yuan luxury car lies not only in the parameters on the specification sheet, but also in whether advanced technology can truly serve the driving experience.
